The newly constructed Tropical House at Marwell Zoological Park is home to a diverse and wide range of wildlife and exotic plants.
The challenge of protecting such rare and valuable species from the threat of fire fell to Premier Fire Security who were commissioned by Accolade Building Services Ltd, to supply and install a sophisticated VESDA Air Sampling System specifically designed for its effectiveness in similar environments. This, together with the system’s suitability in overcoming the difficult installation issues presented by such a structure, resulted in an effective solution for the client.
Premier has considerable experience in the design and installation of VESDA systems where the early detection of the presence of smoke is of critical importance. PFS now maintain Tropical House life safety systems direct for Marwell zoo.
FIRE ALARM SYSTEM
We carried out the design, supply, install and commission of a category L2 fire alarm system to BS5839 part 1 2017 as per the project specification.
Our works included the installation of new a fire alarm system using Advanced series 4000 fire alarm panel and Apollo Discovery devices. The clients requirements also included for the use of 3 Aspirating (Vesda) systems to work within the high humidity environments. We worked alongside ABS on this project.
